Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend has become the time for the Wells Family Reunion at the cabin. Everyone tries to be there at the same time... at least for a day (Tiff and Bruce we missed you guys)! This year it was crazy as usual, but the weather made it feel even a little crazier. It was sunshine and blue skies on Saturday, but Sunday and Monday it was cold, rainy and even some snow. This made it so everyone was cooped up inside and we couldn't do any of our usual outdoor activities. My dad has always dreamed of having a cabin and having his whole family there with him, and he was telling this to all the grandkids on Sunday. Brad turned to me and said, "Your dad's dream is my nightmare!" It was chaotic and crazy, but its all worth it for the memories... right?

Here are a few of the highlights...
Throwing rocks in the river. Tanner really wanted to throw himself in the river too!
This was on Saturday when the weather was nice! Sierra, Kaydi, Kass, Becca and Kambria.Dad and Ashlyn (Corbin in the background). One of the highlights for Tanner was having watermelon every day for 3 meals a day! A favorite for all the kids is crafts with Grandma. They made hats that looked like pioneer hats.
Kaydria and Grandma Ashlyn in her cute hat. Then they read a story about hats, and my mom told pioneer stories from her ancestors. We had a movie night and ate scones until we were all sick!My brother Dave doesn't ever go small! A movie night to him has to be the real deal so he brought up a big screen, projector, and surround sound! It was great! Brad (with Tanner in the backpack) wondering why he volunteered to go on this walk with the girls!
Sierra, Rebecca, Kaydi and KassSome adults we are leading these kids right into a storm! Thank goodness Brad was smart enough to turn back at this point and run to get the car. The rest of us thought we could beat the storm and kept going... bad idea. In a matter of seconds it went from nothing to pouring rain and hail that hurt like crazy. We found shelter under another cabins porch until our rescuer came with the car. Ashlyn and her buddy Sam after the storm eating snow on the deck. (Yes this is a day after they were in their swimming suits at the river... only in Utah!)Ashlyn with her cousins Gracie, Braxton and Sam.
