About a week before Tanner's Birthday my next door neighbor asked Tanner what he wanted for his birthday ( I had never thought to ask him because I didn't think he had a clue what a birthday meant, I was wrong) Tanner replied without hesitation, "Cupcakes!" This little boy is more aware of things then I ever knew. I also didn't realize he knew how old his is. If you asked him before his birthday he would reply 1 and now he yells out 2 and tries to hold up 2 fingers. His latest obsession is with Elmo, so we had Elmo cupcakes for his party.
He blew out the candles like a pro! And cupcakes are the way to go so when he spits on the candles it is only on his cupcake!
Tanner thinks through everything and instead of just ripping off the paper he carefully tried to untie the ribbon.
Bristle Blocks from Grandma and Grandpa Wells- already a big hit!
Again, very methodically untieing the ribbon first.
And then every piece of paper he tore off the present, he had to throw away in the garbage before he would tear off anymore. It was pretty funny. It took him about 5 min. to open this present.
A big truck full of match box cars from Grandma and Grandpa Gunnell- what little boy wouldn't love those! He was so fun to watch show off for his grandparents. Everytime he liked something he would jump, and announce that he was going to jump.
Brad and I got him a lawn mower that blows bubbles out the side. He ran around the patio yelling bubbles and refused to come back inside!
He was already out helping dad mow the lawn the next day!
WHAT A KID! And what a joy he is in our lives. It is hard to believe he can already be 2, yet it feels like he has been a part of our family forever. There are a million things I want to capture and remember about this sweet, sweet boy. The night of his birthday he was capitalizing on every moment of getting attention. He really didn’t want to go to bed (can't blame him with all the excitement). I went into his room to lay him down for the millionth time and he says to me, “Hand mommy.” And then he reaches out his hand to hold mine. He made me just stand by his crib and hold his hand. He is so sweet and tender hearted. I kept thinking as I was standing there holding his hand that when he is a teenager I will need to remember that at one point in his life he really wanted me and needed me by his side.
And to wrap this up, you have to love the diaper bum in the jammies!

What a cute little guy!! I LOVE the Elmo cupcakes. Those are SO cute! I'm totally impressed! It looks like you guys had so much fun at Disneyland. My girls are totally thrilled because we are going, too!
Looks like Tanner had a great time and I love the Elmo cupcakes, that is so creative. Tanner is such a cute little guy I wish we could see him more often.
He is such a cute kid! Maybe I could handle a boy. Love the cupcakes. Looks like fun. Brooklyn is soon to follow turning 2 in May. Where did the time go?!
