Halloween Fun

So I was feeling pretty guilty for being a lousy mom lately. Pregnancy and taking care of two other kids is a pretty hard task. My kids are used to me just hanging out on the couch and needing to rest. I decided we needed to do something different. So I took the kids to the craft store to pick out some Halloween crafts. They were so excited and asked for EVERYTHING in the store. We settled on some paper mache pumpkins, witch hats and candy corns that they could paint.
Tanner insisted on black and then mixed every other color with the black to paint his pumpkin. Ashlyn was meticulous as she wanted her pumpkin to be orange and perfect!

I don't know what it is with kids and paint, but they LOVE it!

My cute little Frog and Snow Princess dressed to go trick-or-treating.

Tanner wasn't a huge fan of any costume this year. We had bought him another frog costume back in September and then when I would try it on him he would freak out and make me take it off him. So we tried a bat costume and a lion costume- he didn't like any of them. My neighbor had this frog costume so we just borrowed this instead of buying a costume he might not wear any way. We had to bribe him to put it on, and then he only would put the hat on for one picture!
Ashlyn knew from the moment she saw this Snow Princess costume that it was meant for her. We were at Jo Anne's and she was so dramatic about how beautiful it was and how much she loved it. I was going to leave it there because it cost WAY more than I was willing to spend on a Halloween costume, but my sister Kambria was there and she has a soft spot when it comes to my kids. So Kambria told Ashlyn she would help buy it for her for her birthday. Ashlyn was so exited and loved putting it on any chance she got.

This is Ashlyn with her preschool class. She took her program very serious and sang every word to the Halloween songs. She cracks me up! She loves school, and loves doing exactly what her teacher wants her to. ( I wish she felt the same way about my rules and expectations!)
