Now the question is how did this...
Fit in here???
Logan was my biggest baby even at 2 weeks early!
(This picture was taken the week before I had him)
The labor story: All day Thursday I kind of felt weird- nothing to tell me I was in labor, but just a little off. I went to my doctor's appointment at 2:00 that afternoon and I was dilated to a 2 and 90% effaced. I went about the rest of my day, taught my class at the gym that night and tried not to think too much about it. At about 8:00 that night I said to Brad, "I think I am done teaching, I'm too tired to teach in the morning." So I called and found someone to teach my class for me Friday morning- it's a good thing! When we started getting ready for bed I had the thought that I should pack my hospital bag just in case. So I got a few things together and then tried to go to bed. I was having irregular contractions, but that was nothing new I had been having those for weeks, but as I layed down they got worse. The last thing Brad said to me before he zonked out was, "let's just not do another all nighter like when we had Ashlyn." I didn't want to stress Brad out if I wasn't really in labor so I said I was going to go read for awhile. I went downstairs and watched 2 full episodes of "The Biggest Loser" and timed my contractions. By the end of the second episode they were consistantly 3-4 minutes apart- this was about 2 am.... we were going to have another all nighter! So I woke Brad up and we sat there figuring out who to call to come stay with the kids in the middle of the night. We tried my mom a few times, but without her hearing aids in she couldn't hear the phone and my dad was at the cabin. We didn't want to call his parents because his mom just had surgery and was on pain meds and his dad takes a sleeping pill- didn't want them driving in the middle of the night. So the lucky winners of the phone call at 2:30 am was his sister Lisa (who by the way ignored her phone) but luckily her husband Brandon answered his and was to our house within 5 minutes. When we got to the hosptial I was dilated to a 4- a miracle in itself that is the furthest I have ever gotten without meds. It was a long night. Logan was posterior which I guess makes things go slower. I got my epidural around 5:45am- they wanted to get it done before the shift change at 6 am. I just happened to get the anethesiologist that had been on shift for 36 hours 15 min. before he went home. I knew something wasn't right with my epidural right when he did it because I felt something in my neck, and then I he had to poke me again. Needless to say his first attempt he actually hit my spine which causes all sorts of issues. I got the WORST spinal headache in the world- I can't even describe it. I had to endure that headache all day until the other anethesiologist came at midnight on Friday to do a blood patch to fix the "hole" that hitting my spine created. So I hated my epidural and it had worn off at least 50% by the time Logan was ready to come. Logan came out screaming and we couldn't believe how much hair he had- it was love at first sight! He appeared to be a perfectly healthy little baby.
Holding my little Logan for the first time.
Two happy parents after a REALLY long night!
Brad was the best support person ever. (As long as he didn't have to see the needle or cut the cord)!
Big sister Ashlyn holding Logan for the first time. She couldn't get enough of him from the minute she saw him, and she still can't get enough. She just adores him.
Tanner thought Logan was interesting for a minute, but quickly found more interesting things in my hospital room.
Like eating everything there was in sight! He found all crackers and drinks and just helped himself to the buffet! He also thought my bed was pretty cool!
Our family is now complete!
Welcome to the family Logan- we already love you more than words can say!
