So apparently we have a 4th of July tradition of going to the Riverton Town Days Carnival. Ashlyn said to us the week before, "I'm so excited for the 4th of July because that is when we go to the carnival." Both Ashlyn and Tanner were so excited to go. If you want to get ripped off bigtime- go to the carnival. The rides were pretty pathetic and each ride cost about $6 for both kids to ride. They had a good time though- atleast we think. Ashlyn was all smiles, but Tanner showed no expression. He wouldn't smile at all, but then the minute he got off a ride he would ask to go on another one!
This is the only smile I could catch from Tanner.
We also took a quick day trip up to the cabin. Every time we get in the car Tanner tells me we are going the way to the cabin. They absolutely love the cabin. I think this might have been Logan's one and only trip to the cabin this year. After meeting with his cardiologist this week he told us no more cabin trips. With the elevation at 7600ft. that is too risky for Logan.
But he loved his one trip and was spoiled rotten. There was never a moment he wasn't being held. His cousin Sierra would hold him for hours at a time.
Hanging out with Grandpa
Ashlyn and Tanner got as much in as they could in one day. They were exhausted when we finally headed home that night.
When we got to the cabin and started unloading the car Brad could hear air leaking from the tire. We got a major flat tire. So we got to drive home on the spare... that was fun. The kids were so concered about the tire. Tanner was really into the tools and fixing it, and Ashlyn was paranoid we would get another flat tire on the way home.
This was my proud mom moment. I was sitting in the bedroom feeding Logan and the kids were playing in the room right under me. I hear Ashlyn tell the other kids, "We all need to say a prayer so our tire will be okay and we can get home safely." And I can hear Tanner agreeing with her. Then they all proceed to say their own prayer. It made me so proud that they would think to do that on their own. Prayer has become so key in our lives lately- I am glad my kids are learning from it. As were were driving home Ashlyn says to me, "Mom, we said a prayer that we could get home safe on the tire. We can pray to Heavenly Father for anything and He will help us."
